INTRODUCTION

L'intention est de dévoiler une série d'oeuvres et de projets empreints d'une inclinaison chronique pour les croisements clandestins entre mouvances identifiées de l'art contemporain, jusqu'aux frontières des genres parfois. Se perdre n'est-ce pas avant tout savoir se reconstruire instinctivement de nouvelles voies?

La lecture des oeuvres et des projets aux propriétés vernaculaires veut révéler non seulement un paysage d'influences recomposées, mais invite surtout à observer un système; obscur et volontiers suspect.

Par les contrastes évoqués, les langages en action, les collaborations, les ponts nécessaires entre étapes et entre domaines, les outils et les surfaces utilisées; l'intention est toujours de faire partager une sensibilité pour l'instant et la durée, l'intuition et le plan, la variation et l'expérience des gestes, la répétition, voire la disparition.

Attaché aux concepts liés à la reconnaissance du Temps, à la construction de chaque système s'applique d'abord une condition née de processus archivés par le dessin, ou par de nombreuses notes délivrées en "livres de bord". Ces études méthodiques composent un corps de travail et dessinent la projection d'une oeuvre.

Aller vers cette conciliation des directions avec une stratégie confidentielle, sans oublier cette relation à l'instinct, permet d'appréhender les recherches poursuivies.

Une pratique singulière accompagnée invariablement par une constante qui se nourrit ainsi de points de vue extérieurs, exploités sous forme de points de fuite, de structures conceptuelles, d'éléments scientifiques, d'indices didactiques, indispensables à la construction de l'oeuvre personnelle.

RÉSUMÉ

Après le baccalauréat en Suisse, études en Allemagne de 1996 à 1998 à la Staatliche Zeichen-Akademie de Hanau, puis les Beaux-Arts de 1999 à 2003 à Londres au Central St. Martins College of Art & Design, son travail révèle surtout des projets interdisciplinaires construits d'abord par une quantité de dessins, de notes, distribués en 6 "livres de bord", mais aussi de photographies, installations, vidéos, et objets. Les travaux sans terminaisons absolues sont représentatifs d'une méthode déclinée en partie par la direction de projets conceptuels et fédérateurs de collaborations internationales, à l'exemple des projets 'à ses parents - variations autour de Le Corbusier' , 'Tempography', et 'bluesacredmarkproject.' Projets notamment réalisés grâce à l'obtention de subsides, et de soutiens conséquents. Des projets toujours en cours, exposés internationalement. Nouveau projet en cours de réalisation: 'échouer' 2009.

Vit et travaille actuellement en Suisse.

SUMMARY

Born in 75 in the Swiss Jura mountains, Anthony Bannwart previously known as Hontoban studied in Lausanne* first, art and jewellery in Germany**) and Fine Art in Video and Film at Central St. Martins College in London, among other experiences.

« I am dedicated to conceptual interdisciplinary projects from writing to direction. A methodology that is consisted of personal perspectives through drawings, installations, videos, texts, objects and interspersed with historical, social, and artistic practices often enriched by collaborations.

For example, the TEMPOGRAPHY video project in collaboration with Magnus Aronson, was an urban intervention of silent videos on built-in screens in some 200 buses in London and Birmingham 24/7. Transformed and adapted the project was later exhibited in galleries in Stockholm, Seoul, Hanoi.

Selected other projects written and directed by myself are 'Introspecting my probable Mongol origin as a Swiss' initiated with the Nam June Paik art center - Korea, and 'à ses parents - variations autour de Le Corbusier' a project intervening in two Le Corbusier's early houses with the noteworthy participations of Louise Bourgeois, scientists, musicians, and artists. »

Now, lives and works in Switzerland.

Project by Anthony Bannwart et Magnus Aronson, organized by artist Kyung Roh Bannwart with Bora Hong, director of Gallery Factory. Kyung Roh Bannwart collaborated with graphic designer Chang Sub Choi to edit and the catalogue-DVD including 'Tempothèque 2008'.

Alongside the show more than a dozen participation from South Korea were submitted and included to the collection and exhibited at Gallery Factory.
